: Inspiring, trendy, climate-neutral: drupa trade fair giveaway Backpack or tote bag – the futuristic Bag Packer is the perfect way to carry printed sheet samples at drupa.

Hanover, 09 May 2016. Cooperative networks across the value chain, sustainable solutions and innovative printing technologies: rlc | packaging group has partnered with brandpack, manroland sheetfed, ClimatePartner, Stora Enso and others to develop a special climate-neutral paperboard tote bag for drupa 2016. This unique giveaway illustrates the trade event theme: "Touch the Future."

"Cooperative networks are becoming increasingly important in packaging printing as a means of improving responses to trends like sustainability and premiumization," explains rlc | packaging group CEO Stephan Bestehorn. "Our trade fair giveaway at drupa illustrates the added value of these networks." The company's "Bag Packer" promotional gift is a practical paperboard tote bag that can be worn as a backpack and is ideal for carrying printed sheet samples collected at the exhibition site.

The Bag Packer was developed and designed by the packaging design agency brandpack, an rlc spinoff. The design is doubly convenient for trade show visitors: it can be carried as a tote bag or worn comfortably as a backpack.

Graphics and finishing of the packaging reflect the drupa "Touch the Future" theme. The futuristic visual design is highlighted with inscriptions like "everything you can imagine is real." Single words are deep embossed for greater emphasis. The metallic effect of the visual design is combined with detailed matt/gloss coatings. Metallic matt/gloss gradations give the finishing a distinct premium look.

The Bag Packer is made from Stora Enso Ensocoat 2S paper board. This material's extremely smooth surface makes it ideal for finishing with premium motifs. The bag was printed at rlc in Hanover on a Manroland Sheetfed 16-unit sheet offset machine. As a family-managed company, rlc continually invests in new printing technologies and put this machine into operation just a few months ago. In cooperation with ClimatePartner, the CO2 footprint of the Bag Packer is offset by an emissions certificate from a climate protection project in Kenya.

The following partners were also involved in creating the Bag Packer: Achilles Gruppe, pfc premium film company GmbH, Marbach and hinderer + mühlich.

The Bag Packer is available at the following exhibition stands: Manroland Sheetfed (Hall 14, Stand C21), Stora Enso (Hall 1) and ClimatePartner (Hall 7, Stand D05).
